More predictability and easier budgeting

An Equalized Payment Plan lets you spread your payments evenly throughout the year for more predictability and can help smooth out seasonal high bill periods.

Getting set up is easy

You can set up your Equalized Payment Plan with your ENMAX online account or call a member of our team at 310-2010

How an Equalized Payment Plan works

Setting your monthly payment

When you set up your plan, our system will calculate a suggested equalized payment. This amount is based on your historical energy usage for your property or if no history exists, based on average usage for similar dwellings in Alberta. You have the flexibility to set a payment that is 10 per cent less than that suggested amount or up to 100 per cent more.

There are no additional costs to set up equalized payments.

Adjusting your payments

You can return to regular monthly billing at any time or request to change your equalized payment amount once per month by calling 310-2010.

We recommend reviewing your bill monthly as you can adjust your Equalized Payment Plan up or down based on your actual charges. **

**ENMAX Energy Corporation can change or cancel the Equalized Payment Plan at any time in its sole discretion.

Settle-up month

Once a year your Equalized Payment Plan will have a settle-up month. The settle-up month will be the same month that you set up your Equalized Payment Plan. If over 12 months you’ve paid more than you were billed your settle-up balance will show an overpayment. If you paid less than the total you were billed for the previous year, your account will have a balance owing.

Equalized Payment Plan eligibility

Accounts with an overdue balance, unpaid security deposit, active payment arrangement, or active installment plan are not able to set up equalized payments. Once any of these situations are cleared up, an Equalized Payment Plan can be created.
